STEM Camps
COSMIC’s STEM program utilizes practical and hands-on educational experiences both at COSMIC and in the community. These events help build and improve the current and future workforce by providing students with opportunities to develop technical skills and investigate real-world challenges relevant to the Space Force and its partners. Some of these activities include StellarXplorers space camps, introductory space programs, student IT days, and other space-related lessons with our portable planetarium.
StellarXplorers
StellarXplorers is a space system design camp where students focus on team problem-solving associated with sending objects to space, determining payload, and satellite coverage using Systems Toolkit.
Robotics Camp
Robotics camp will engage students in technical learning through the coding and programming of VEX robots. Throughout the week, students will come up with a solution to a real-world problem.
STEM Resources
Universities Space Research Association (USRA) administers a three-pronged approach to strengthening the science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) workforce pipeline that includes: the AFRL Scholars Program, AFRL Scholars Professionals, and the University Research and Engagement Program (UREP). This portfolio of enriching programs aligns directly with the Federal STEM Strategy and Department of Defense (DoD) STEM mission for the U.S. Department of the Air Force by offering immersive project-based learning opportunities for students and postdoctoral fellows.
