On July 30, 2025, Inter Astra and Commercial Space Marketplace for Innovation and Collaboration (COSMIC) hosted Chris Cassidy, as part of a series of workforce development events. Chris Cassidy is a retired Navy SEAL, astronaut, and the Chief of the Astronaut Office at NASA (2015-2017). Chris has flown to the International Space Station (ISS) aboard the Space Shuttle Endeavor and the Russian Soyuz spacecraft. He has accumulated 377 days in space to include his most recent six-month spaceflight in 2020.

Over 40 high school and college students participated in the question-and-answer portion. Chris’ message revolved around being a team player, being an honest broker, and being involved in the community. He also credited sports for teaching him values about teamwork and resilience. He encouraged the young audience members to be perpetually curious and to learn about various fields, from arts, to science, and engineering.
