Space Systems Command
Space Systems Command (SSC) is the U.S. Space Force field command responsible for acquiring and delivering resilient war fighting capabilities to protect our nation’s strategic advantage in, from and to space. They work in partnership with joint forces, industry, government agencies, academic and allied organizations to accelerate innovation and outpace emerging threats.
About COSMIC
The Commercial Space Marketplace for Innovation and Collaboration (COSMIC) has been established from the combined efforts of the Space Force’s Space Systems Command (SSC) and the Virginia Tech Applied Research Corporation (VT-ARC). Through this new partnership, COSMIC offers complimentary services in a collaborative environment to bring government, academic, and industry personnel together. The initiative supports the government’s vision to deliver commercial capabilities to support global mission priorities and joint warfighters.
Features
The new COSMIC facility is a 10,000 square foot space that will support collaborative environments for meetings, teaching, training, laboratory workshops, quiet work, and academic outreach.
Event Support
The event coordination team is available to help organize the logistics of your event, including breakout groups, seating arrangement, and providing catering and travel suggestions.
Note-taking/Facilitation
COSMIC can provide note taking and facilitation support for your event. Requests must be submitted at least three weeks prior to the event.
Marketing
The marketing and outreach team utilizes LinkedIn and other platforms to promote events and increase awareness of technologies and missions to boost industry and academia engagement.
Analytics
VT-ARC’s data analytics team provides our partners with data-driven insights to help support events, partnership building, and future collaborations.
STEM
COSMIC’s STEM program utilizes practical and hands-on educational experiences both at COSMIC and in the community. These events help build and improve the current and future workforce by providing students with opportunities to develop technical skills and investigate real-world challenges.
WiFi Network
COSMIC provides wireless connectivity throughout the facility with a commercial ISP that is configured, monitored and maintained in accordance with industry cybersecurity best practices.
